The Miele Experience
Emmer Besser – Forever Better

By Jess Whitehead

Recently I was fortunate to join a very exciting trip to Miele’s showroom in Edinburgh, it was great to see the new appliances after a lovely, picturesque journey further up North.

Miele’s showroom in Edinburgh

It is always great to test out the appliances themselves, and as an added bonus this also tends to mean testing the food produced, which is a highlight when it comes to Miele training… and I must admit, they don’t disappoint.  One particularly interesting part of the trip was seeing the full range of ovens, particularly the colour options which we usually see through shining visuals.

For those of you who don’t know much about Miele.  They are a high-quality appliance brand that fits in beautifully with our luxury kitchen offering, I tend to find that when a customer previously has Miele, they are a Miele customer from then forward.

… A lot of this is due to the high-quality build of a Miele appliance, the appliances are built and tested to last 20 years! Over the time you have your appliance for, it is truly worth it.

The Miele training follows a similar format to the Miele experience that customers can look to be a part of, here we were served a beautiful 3-course meal by the home economist whilst getting walked through the pros and cons of the oven functions, as there isn’t one oven for everyone. It’s all about your personal cooking style

For example, can you believe the below risotto was cooked in a steam oven, with no stirring during the process required…

This is truly a highlight of the steam oven functionality…

Prior to the risotto, we had a prawn masala starter that was cooked within the warming drawer… which was incredibly tasty, the beauty of all Miele ovens including the warming drawer is that they have a 1-degree tolerance, this is rare for a lot of warming drawer manufacturers, as most simply just keep warm but using a Miele warming drawer for simply warming your plates, is a massive underuse of its capabilities, as it is truly another cooking cavity.

Finally, there is the pastry cooked within the oven, there is so many features within the ovens! For example, pyrolytic cleaning – but unlike other manufacturers, there is no need to take the metal furniture out. In addition, some of the models include a camera, that is pyrolytic safe, allowing both functions within the same model.

The challenge is deciding the absolute best cooking function for you… be it a microwave function, full steam, vario steam. Plus, the unique additions, such as an internal camera or food probe, all to assist your cooking abilities.
