“BORA VENTING HOB”
By Jess Whitehead
The Bora Pure is part of the Bora family of venting hobs, a venting hob is one of the newest and arguably best innovations in the kitchen industry over the past 10 years.
Firstly – What is a venting hob?
A venting hob combines your typical overhead extractor and hob into one appliance, this allows them to work together which statistically creates a much better extraction rate for extracting cooking vapours.
Plus, this is much simpler to plan as you don’t need to accommodate an overhead extractor, making venting hobs perfect for an island installation, creating more sociable areas, as the user is now central facing their family/guest as opposed to a wall.
The Bora Pure is elegant as well as user-friendly, but the main advantage of the Bora Pure is its effectiveness: it’s an extractor that works!
Whether it is a recirculating or a ducted model, the Bora pure is effective at extracting steam, grease, and cooking odours. Made possible by the Bora principle, with the perfect ratio of extraction against rising steam.
Since Bora’s launch, many other brands have copied this concept to create their own version of the venting hob, some aiming for a different look, different features or a more powerful fan. However, a more powerful fan may sound good… but this does add to the noise level, as a result Bora’s fans are as powerful as they need to be to ensure lower noise levels while maintaining the maximum performance, which has ensured Bora have remained the market leader for venting hob performance.
All areas of the Bora Pure have been designed as ergonomically as possible, with no small detail left untouched. This includes cleaning, with the Bora Pure’s simple and extremely easy cleaning process. The grease filter and inlet nozzle can be simply placed in the dishwasher, even daily if required.
Some customers even buy two grease filters, so it can be used whilst one is in the dishwasher. Additionally, for the Bora pure you can change it up and add your own personal touch my changing the colour of the inlet nozzle.
In the UK most people still prefer to opt for the exhaust air model where possible, and if simple to do, I would agree as it is a fit and forget process. Meaning you don’t need to do anything after the fact as a charcoal (odour) filter is not required, as all smells will simply go straight outside.
However, recirculation is still just as efficient with the extraction rate and is actually more commonly purchased within Germany where Bora was invented and remains. The main difference is that you require the addition of a charcoal (odour) filter to be changed every 150 hours, which tends to average at about once a year. Alternatively, with the recirculating model, you don’t have a constraint of how/where are you fitting this? as in planning a route for the ducting.
