We did it again! Caused havoc within our showroom!?
By Jess Whitehead

To end 2022 and prepare for 2023, we decided to update our displays again. Despite 8 months earlier swearing to not do one for well over a year as the disruption caused to our working environment is…

York kitchen showroom Display Update…

Well loud and dusty! And to make things more fun we decide to do two… we clearly love a challenge here at Studio 35.

So why did we do this? basically, Gary, Rob and myself, have this slight weakness where we fall in love with a new product and decide we must have it! Alongside that, our obsession for new designs and improving ourselves and our showroom never stops… basically we must have had one quiet day last year where we were UpToDate on designs, so with nothing new to design, we turned our fixated focus to the showroom.

And it’s true, this was genuinely kick started by one new product that we fell in love with and decided we needed. The product in question is the X-Bo, Bora’s brand-new innovation, their first oven, for those of you who don’t know Bora, they are specialists in venting hobs.

The Bora X-Bo

Well to backtrack, firstly it was Rob who decided we need it! So, to be convinced Gary and myself flew out with Rob to Germany, to see this product first hand! After cooking with the X-Bo and enjoying the food created, we all decided we wanted this product.

Live Cooking on Bora appliances
In my personal opinion, it is unlike any other oven on the market, from its dishwasher like self-cleaning function, to the uniquely controlled cooking function, right down to its built-in extraction for clear air. And honestly, it just looks good!

The X-Bo in action

Anyway, we decided we needed it! But this was for a future investment, something to look at when the industry quietened down… potentially re-discuss in 2023. However… skip two weeks ahead… and we have a full kitchen design with the X-Bo at the heart of the design.

We pride ourselves that every display we have is well thought out and is about looking good, we don’t bend ourselves to try and show everything and please everyone, but on what looks gorgeous and works for that part of the showroom. And I can honestly say I adore every display within our showroom, for so many different reasons and in a heartbeat would have any in my own home.

That being said, like everything… it can still be ranked. And we were all in agreement on which display was ranked lowest. Gorgeous display but had been there the longest and I would say had the least uniqueness to it. Now the new display for the Bora X-Bo was not to replace this, as we believed the X-Bo was better suited elsewhere. You can probably see where I’m going with this… and why we changed two displays.

CAD Design of new display featuring Bora Classic

Shifting back to our trip to Germany we also had a lot of fun cooking on the Bora Classic and may have decided we need this too… however we heavily focused the 2nd display around the furniture, specifically the materials and design, with the Bora classic as that added extra bonus. It consists of honest materials, your natural wood produced by Spekva, and the Concrete effect quartz worktop by Caesarstone, that I seriously can not stop touching, I am genuinely obsessed with it!

So this is why we then endured 6 weeks of absolute disruption to the showroom, but it does give us that sympathy for our clients, luckily it is always worth the havoc. And I truly can’t wait for everyone to see our new displays!
